Privacy Policy

Fresh Plugins ("we", "us", "our") operates the WellKept WordPress plugin. This policy explains how we handle information in connection with our products and this website. Fresh Plugins is the data controller for the personal information described below.

1. What we collect — scoring

When you score a post, WellKept sends it to the WellKept scoring service, which runs as a Cloudflare Worker. The data sent from your site to that service is: the post title, up to the first 3,000 characters of the post's text content, the post's word count, a freshness-age score calculated on your own site from the post's modified date, and your site URL. On a Pro licence or trial, a licence installation identifier and an anonymous site identifier are sent with it, together with a licence key on paid licences, so that entitlement can be verified.

That service forwards your content to Anthropic's Claude API, which returns the references and depth assessments; the overall freshness score is calculated on your own site. The data forwarded to Anthropic is: the post title, the post's word count, and up to the first 3,000 characters of the post's text content. Your site URL, the freshness-age score and any licence identifiers are not forwarded to Anthropic, and no date, age or day count relating to the post reaches Anthropic. See Anthropic's privacy policy: https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

Cloudflare is the infrastructure the scoring service runs on, not a party that analyses your content — every scoring request simply passes through Cloudflare's network in transit.

Your post content is not retained after a score is returned. For each successful scoring request the service logs the requesting site's domain, the post's word count, the three sub-scores produced for it and the request latency; a bulk scoring request logs the domain, the number of posts in the request and the latency instead. Neither entry records the post's title or any of its content. These diagnostic entries are not stored: log retention is switched off for the service, so they exist only in a live diagnostic stream while someone is actively watching it, and are otherwise discarded. The service does separately keep per-domain monthly scoring counts (retained for 40 days) and licence entitlement records (retained for 30 days).

Content is only transmitted when you score a post, score posts in bulk, mark a post "done" (which triggers a rescore), or have weekly automatic rescoring switched on. Weekly automatic rescoring is available on every tier, is off by default, and a weekly run stops as soon as the month's scoring allowance is used up. If you don't score content, no post content leaves your site.

2. What we collect — paid licences (Freemius)

If you purchase a Pro licence, checkout, licensing and entitlement verification are handled by Freemius, our payments and licensing provider. Freemius collects your name and email address to process payment, issue a licence key, and verify entitlement, and provides that information to us. See Freemius's privacy policy: https://freemius.com/privacy/.

Outside of a paid licence purchase, we do not collect your name or email address through the plugin. The free tier collects neither. Site-level information handled by the scoring service is described in section 1 above.

3. This website

This website (fresh-plugins.com) does not use tracking cookies or analytics. We do not collect personal information from visitors.

4. International data transfers

Anthropic and Cloudflare are both based in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, scoring a post means your content is transferred to, and processed in, the US. Freemius processes payment and licence data outside your country in a similar way when you purchase a Pro licence.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you're located, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information we hold about you, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@fresh-plugins.com.

6. Contact

For privacy enquiries, contact us at privacy@fresh-plugins.com.

7. Australian Privacy Act

We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. As our plugin serves users globally, we also endeavour to meet the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised.
